4th All Pakistan Climate Change Seminar, 2016

Mother Earth is experiencing challenging adverse changes due to the negligence of humans’ actions. To bring the same notion to the table, on 5th November, 2016, the annual 4th All Pakistan Climate Change Seminar was organized.

The students of Cadet College Petaro, Cadet College Sanghar, Concept School Thatta, Army Public School Hyderabad and Foundation Grammar School Tando Allahyar enhanced the whole event with their unique ideas and informative multimedia presentations. The participants identified areas of concern, highlighted destructive domestic and commercial human activities, and offered pragmatic solutions to avoid adverse changes to climate. Petaro Cadet College came up with an interesting presentation involving precise and comprehensive dialogues between the planet Earth and Man. The Quiz further cemented the knowledge and information conveyed earlier in the Seminar. Though SSTians emerged victorious in the Quiz Competition, yet they withdrew on account of being host of the event. Hence, runners-up Concept School Thatta was awarded winning trophy while Cadet College Petaro grabbed second slot.

The guest speaker, Syed Hashim Raza – M. Phil in Zoology, Commonwealth Youth Award winner with over 10-years’ teaching experience – also shared his words on the theme of the seminar. The honourable Principal Air Cdre (Retd), Nayyar Q. Khawja, drew the event to its logical close by revealing his thoughts through two short but meaningful presentations regarding Climate Change. In a brief action-oriented message, he cut the long message short by saying that the solution is “You and Me”, and if we are keen to curtail adverse environmental effects, we must take initiative to protect and guard our mother Earth against the environmental hazards.
