- Founders’ Day 2017 – a blissful day for SOBA
Sargodhian Spirit Trust Public School, Rashidabad is a true reflection of patriotism and altruism of Sargodhian Old Boys’ Association (SOBA). It is a proven fact that all the Sargodhians are committed souls who are always on their toes to ‘Pay back to the Nation’ to what they have so richly received from their great Alma Mater i.e. PAF Public School, Sargodha.
On 26th January, 2017, the 12th Founders’ Day of SST Public School was held with great pomp and show. Honourable Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah graced the occasion as the chief guest. Chairman SST, Tasneem Noorani, CEO SST, Air Cdre (R) Ershad Ahsan,Board of Trustees, Officers of Pakistan Air Force, Civil Servants, Politicians, Parents and Journalists attended the function.
The event was celebrated with the captivating and thrilling performances of the SSTians who presented a well – synchronized P.T. Show, danced on rhythmic beat of cultural songs of all provinces, and exhibited an impressive Martial Art show.
The Principal of the School Air Cdre (Retd) Nayyar Qayum Khawja expressed his gratitude to all the honourable guests. He highlighted commendable accomplishments of SST students in Cambridge International Examination where SST students clinched positions from regional to national level, and commended their achievements in curricular and co-curricular activities. He also expressed his resolve to make this institution the best in the country.
In his address, the Chairman Tasneem Noorani thanked the Chief Minister for gracing the occasion with his presence. He spoke about the mission statement of SST Public School and expressed his profound thanks to all SOBA members, Principal of the school, teaching faculty, admin and bursary staff for their commendable efforts to run the school successfully.
Later, the Chief Guest awarded Falcon Trophy to Sachal & Shabaz House while Sachal House also added a feather of glory by receiving Academic Trophy. The Chief Guest while addressing at the occasion lauded the students and faculty members for producing exceptional results in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Chief Minister Sindh, proudly announced financial support for the extension of SST to accommodate 750-students. He also assured that 50-students per year would be sponsored by the Government of Sindh. Besides, the honourable chief guest added that all cost incurred on the construction of ‘Teachers Training Institute’ will be borne by Sindh Government. In addition to this, he pledged to provide funds for construction of new roads and enriching of existing roads in SST. For this purpose, he directed C&W to extend support to the institution.
With the departure of the Chief Guest, all the activities gently diffused. The generous announcements of the chief guest brought huge satisfaction to stakeholders of SST: it was a meritorious reward of the tireless services rendered by students, teachers, admin and other supporting staff.
