SSTians’ Educational Trip to SECMC: Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company
April 14, 2018 (Saturday): Educational trips reflect rich educational culture SSTPSR offers to her young students, and such expeditions sharpen their learning skills. In the month of April, boys of Entry 11 were sent to Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company Islamkot, Thar.
The caravan of 87 boys accompanied by five teachers departed at half past five in the morning, and reached their destination at 1100 hours. The students visited the Coal Mines where they were briefed by Mr. Kazmi, one of the Engro engineers, about the functioning and the outcome of the said mining project. Subsequently, the students were also taken to view the power plant project where they were given briefing, with the help of 3D models, on the future constructional and operational projects of Engro. Later on, the students and teachers were served delicious lunch in a nicely maintained restaurant, and in the end, SSTians presented the school crest to the Director Site Operation (SECMC).
It was a wonderful educational trip that familiarized the young SSTians with one of the developmental projects of Pakistan. They enjoyed it and returned laden with a broader vision about the future of their beloved country.
