All Pakistan BiLingual Declamation Contest 2014
The 2nd All Pakistan Declamation Contest was held at Sargodhian Spirit Trust Public School, Rashidabad on November 29, 2014 in which the contestants from renowned educational institutions from all over the country participated. Air Cdre (Retd) Shabbir Ahmed Khan graced the occasion with his presence as the Chief Guest. According to the decisions of the Judges, Shah Nehal Idrees got the first position in Urdu Category. Likewise, the 2nd position was bagged by Sabeen Umrani from Hayat Girls Higher Secondary School, Hyderabad while the 3rd position was won by Affan Saeed from Agha Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi (Morning Shift).
As far as English Speech Category is concerned, Musharraf from Agha Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi (Evening Shift) got the 1st position while Cadet Hasan Gondal from Cadet College Petaro and Ayesha Muhammad Ahmed from Agha Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi (Morning Shift) were awarded 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Based on the overall performance, the Running Trophy was given away to Agha Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi (Evening Shift) whereas the Runner-Up Trophy was awarded to Hayat Girls Higher Secondary School, Hyderabad.
The other participant-institutions included Aitchison College, Lahore, Cadet College Sanghar, Cadet College Ghotki, Cadet College Larkana, DJ Science College, Karachi, Habib Public School, Karachi, Govt S.m. Degree College, Tandoallahyar, The British Language Institute, Tandoallahyar, Rockford Cambridge School, Hyderabad, and The Foundation Grammar School, Tandoallahyar.
The Chief Guest, Air Cdre (Retd) Shabbir Ahmed Khan cherished the standard of the speeches and threw light on the importance of declamation contests for the intellectual and analytical development of the students. He also encouraged the students to participate in a variety of competitive endeavors to polish their leadership skills.
The Principal of the School, Air Cdre (Retd) Nayyar Qayyum Khawja presented a vote of thanks to the guests. He emphasized on the importance of understanding the difference between a political and a literary speech. At the end, he presented the souvenirs to the Judges and the chief guest. Finally, the guests had their lunch with the students of Sargodhian Spirit Trust Public School, Rashidabad.
